“You can’t dine on past glories as they say, but our 35 years of experience in the business have certainly provided us with an excellent pedigree and a vast array of products.”

Ibco began life as a family company, distributing dry foods to restaurants and shops in Oldham & Manchester, before expanding nationally. It was not until a cold storage facility was built at the back of the family grocery store in Oldham that business began blooming. A forty foot, 20 tonne container followed, and as contacts in Bangladesh, India, China & Vietnam were nurtured, new products were being introduced into the European markets. As a subsidiary of The Seamark Group, Ibco Ltd made a significant investment into Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) products. In 2000, the Seamark Group built and equipped a fully fledged processing plant in the Bangladesh Port of Chittagong-Ibco Food Industries – which is BRC certified ensuring the best and complete control over product quality.

Ibco is one of the top leading importers of white fish and king prawns in the UK, buying from the finest and is naturally sourced in Bangladesh,Vietnam, Indian and China. Ibco Ltd offers an unbeatable variety of value added food products, both fresh and frozen. Our motto is to provide product from ‘source to fork’. Our Leading Brand, Ibco Brand, is now readily available in UK and to export in , Europe and USA. With numerous awards under our belt we provide competitive prices and are constantly expanding our product range with new and innovative products. This has allowed us to retain our position as one of Europe’s respected and reliable suppliers. Located just off the M60 in Manchester, Ibco Ltd boasts an impressive state-of-the-art cold storage facility with excellent access routes across the UK & Europe. Using advanced mobile racking and stock tracking systems, the new facility has five loading points and dock levellers, storing up to 10, 500 pallets and 12,500tons of frozen food at any one time.

Bangladesh ensures the best quality product due to the purity of the water fed down from the Himalayas. Ibco Food Industries in the Bangladesh port of Chittagong, sits in an idyllic 3.3 acre site, possessing fully operational processing plants that conform to the latest European health and hygiene standards. The plant contributes to the output capacity of 100 tonnes of fish, shrimp, finger foods, fruits and vegetables. Ibco uses CFC-free refrigeration units and employs over 1500 local people. Committed to upholding basic human rights, fully supporting the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation, which seeks to promote social justice and recognise labour rights. We commit to ethical trading and the codes of labour practice, based on internationally agreed labour standard by ILO. Furthermore, our policies and strategies are developed to minimise any impact our business may have on the environment.
